MICA wants to put artist moms in the spotlightNew Submission Forms for 2023 Coming Soon!
Mothers Institute for Collaboration and Art (MICA) is putting moms in the spotlight
MICA gathered 45 featured artists in the visual and performing arts, all identifying as mothers and primary parents. We threw a three-day festival. Now, the visual art is being kept on display at 33 Hawley through 2022!
MICA isn’t quite ready for another festival, but we’d love to cozy up with more intimate events, such as readings, plays, and musical performances, for an evening or afternoon with our featured mom artists. Want to host an event or collaborate with us? Email us at hello@experiencemica.org

You heard it, Mommas! MICA is throwing its first multi-artistic festival for you, Mother, who works so hard. We value your talents and efforts and we want to offer you a prime space in downtown Northampton, MA. Do you know about Northampton Center for the Arts at 33 Hawley in Northampton, MA?
Have you seen the space at 33 Hawley? We are thrilled that performances and gallery spaces are opening again.
This is your moment to shine.
The details are still in the making but in the meantime, we are looking for submissions. Please fill out the interactive form below to let us know about you as an artist. Fill out what you know and write ‘unknown’ for what you don’t know. Please note that not everyone in your group needs to be a mother, we just want to make sure a major collaborator is a mother artist.
What is in it for you?
Our curated festival offers prime exposure at Northampton Center for the Arts. The event will be marketed and advertised, and your art will get exposure at the event, on the website, and through social media. This festival is made possible by the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation’s Empowering Innovation Magic Grants. Helen Gurley Brown was all about empowering women.
Artist moms come from every background.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are integral to MICA’s culture. Our events and biannual festivals should cover the many voices of mothers throughout our world.
Spread the word!
Do you know of any other mother artists who might want to participate? Spread the word and share the wealth! MICA is here to support the arts and spotlight mother artists. We’re going to have a kicking event with an opening party, so let your peeps know.
The Festival is in October!
The artists might need help! Everyone will be hungry! It’s a party, we should have cocktails! Do you have carpentry skills? What are we missing that you have to offer? Want to donate? We will be working with fiscal sponsorship. Send us an email and let us know how you can help!
